17th Pharmacy Induction Ceremony, OOUTH Shagamu.

On the 24th of January 2017, the faculty of pharmacy, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state; held the induction of the 17th set of OOU pharmacists into the noble profession, at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital—OOUTH, Shagamu, Ogun state.

The 55 pharmacists had their day in grand style, with friends and family present to rejoice with them.


The occassion was a merry event, attended by Guests of honor—Pharmacist lere baale, Professor. Mrs MN Femi Oyewo (dean), The Deputy VC, and a representative of the PCN registrar, as well as pharmacists in academia and industry.


In the course of the Induction, the new pharmacists were sworn in as they took the professional oath in a grand manner.


Awards were given to exceptional students that excelled in


•Pharmaceutical microbiology,


•pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry,


•Pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology,


•pharmacognosy,


•Clinical and Bio Pharmacy;


—the departments under the faculty; as well as past PANS 2014/2016 Executive members that served while in school.


The 'cherry on the cake of the event', was the unveiling of the 5 Best Graduating Students, of the 5 depart departments, of which 2 students bagged a first class distinction B.Pharm, with CGPAs 4.68 and 4.60 respectively.


The overall best student—now Pharmacist Adeyi Ayodele, who graduated with dostinction—a CGPA of 4.68, even in a tough course like pharmacy set a faculty record, and was celebrated by all and sundry.


The Obafemi Awolowo College Of Health Sciences, (School Of Medicine) set a similar extremely rare record during their induction that took place on the 19th of this month, by graduating the first distinction doctor, with a distinction in surgery.


Earlier on in the Induction, the Guest Lecturer—Pharmacist Lere Baale spoke on the relevance of entrepreneurship in pharmacy profession, sharing his own experiences while climbing up his career ladder, admonishing the new pharmacists to create visionary goals for themselves, with a sincere desire to achieve them, through hard work and diligence.


At the end of the event, the proper merriment began, with students and family, eating and drinking with a happy heart— a tradition of ' post induction stipple chase', during which splashonpoint got a chance to interview some of the new inductees.
